Alice sorry you have to work but if it's 7 you might as well go directly to the other sunset and night event.

Oops... I thought Wards Island is nearby the other event .

A good 30 minute walk and who knows where we would be at 7pm most likely some where half way in between. You are welcome to call me before you catch a ferry.

Hi everyone, as most of you want to come down to the island this Saturday. it is now rescheduled to this Saturday May 15.

I will take the 700pm ferry.... hope to c u @ the pier before that.

How powerful a flashlight do you need for the light painting?

I never did that before. For sure leave the 9V flash in your tools box or your camping bag.

it doesn't need to be powerful, it needs to be rather precise and condensed if that makes sense

I've got a 800 lumen flashlight, too bright?

I think folks will need to bring their ND filters if you bring that beast out. lol

always wanted to try to paint with light. bought sparklers long ago but never got a chance to use them.i will bring them if i can make it. if that is fine. i dont know if sparklers are problematic or anything

I suggest you avoid anything flammable...it might not make park officials happy.

En route stop by a dollar store and pick up some LED toys (things like chemical light sticks don't work well). Here's some examples in this thread:

I picked up a set of the led finger lights (first pic in the link) at Dollarama yesterday just on a whim. Think I'll go back for another set for the other hand. Was only $1.

If you drive:
There is a parking lot off Freeland street. $5 flat rate. About a block east of yonge .

looks like the weather is changing.... is this still a go?

Personally I've decided not to go due to the weather lookout, and the fact I have to get up early for the PHSC camera show tomorrow, and the fact I'm going to be at a trade show after that and Monday, so I have a lot of walking to do the next few days.

Would love to have attended, and looking forward to seeing the images from the event.

It was a pleasure meeting members that I havent met before. Sorry that I had to skip dinner because I didnt want to miss the subway ride back to Kipling. Check my website for the latest pictures. See you all next time!
