Thanks for the link to the falls. I think since it doesn't have an actual trail (according to the posted info) it might be best to pass on it for this outing. The two waterfalls that might be of interest, close to where we're heading are Eugenia Falls and Hoggs Falls. Eugenia Falls might not be much to look at this time of year, but with all the rain we've had in the last while, it might be pretty good. There are also some nice falls heading north to Owen Sound.

Sue/All,

I've got a book called Waterfalls of Ontario which pretty much lists/photographs and describes how you get to almost all the waterfalls in Ontario (includes GPS coordinates). Do you want me to bring it along?......Would a GPS be handy?

Based on Google map, its a 65 minutes drive, so lets meet at 10:30 on the SouthWest corner of Queen and Yonge @ the street car stop.

Also, i am bringing my GPS unit that can map using coordinates, so bring it along. if you have time to post/ PM a few of the coordinates, I will save them in the unit in advance.

Hey Eddie,

South West would be in front of Bay Store right?

Here is a list of few of the falls.....took me a while to figure out how to put in UTM coordinates........You need to put your GPS unit in Metric mode. I will bring my GPS with POI's of the following with me.

1) Hoggs Falls (UTM: 17T, 536538, 4904036)
2) Eugenia Falls (UTM: 17T, 537754, 4906775)
3) McGowan Falls (UTM: 17T, 515220, 4891763)
4) Inglis Falls (UTM: 17T, 505223, 4930345)
5) Jones Falls (UTM: 17T, 501150, 4933982)
6) Keefer Falls (UTM: 17T, 512976, 4941095)
7) McGowan Falls (UTM: 17T, 515220, 4891763)
8) Sauble Falls (UTM: 17T, 479740, 4947008)
9) Walters Falls (UTM: 17T, 522921, 4926231)

These are by no means close to each other.....This is just from the book, the list of waterfalls in Lake Huron Area......I will bring the book with me.

Sure, bring it along if you want to. As I mentioned before, I'm thinking that Hoggs and Eugenia Falls are good ones to see, and I could foresee going to Inglis Falls if we head to Owen Sound for dinner as it's sort of along the way. I'm sure others would be interested in checking out your book if they like waterfalls, but I don't want to make this primarily a waterfall outing. I'm sort of envisioning a short stop at each of the two south of Kimberley (maybe a half hour each?) and see where else we end up throughout the day. Hope that sounds okay.

oh poo, Can't make it this weekend. I'll never get to go on a trip with TPMG.
:( :(
Will be photgraphing the colors of Guanajuato, Mexico's colonial architecture instead. Save some leaves for me in 2 weeks time!!
Maybe by then I'll ahve to head SOUTH for Fall colours. Might be a good reason to go to Letchworth State Park in NY...

I've been to a social event, so this would be my first outing. I'd really like to go, but I'd need a ride from Toronto.

ok, I'm flip-flopping.

I rearranged the schedule so I can participate to this event.
My offer for carpooling is available again, leaving from Victoria Park and Lawrence.

Hey Jordan I would think if you pick me up around 10:45am that should give us enough time to get up there. What do you think?

BTW right now they are calling for rain on Sun. Keep you fingers crossed!

I can offer a ride, leaving from Queen & Spadina around 10:45. I have one other person that may get a ride with me, but they have not confirmed.

Hey Daniel,

I think 10:45 should be enough time to get up to Orangeville for noon (but maybe leave a few mins earlier to be on the save side). I just checked to and its just potentially some scattered showers - nothing too bad - I got caught in a lot worse last weekend up at algonquin park!

It will be a big automotive parade. BTW, think about making TPMG flag for cars. Should be easier to stick together when driving.
