Was there from midnight to 5am.. one word to describe my experience; disappointment. Two years ago, NB was good. Last year was barely okay, and this year was just bad. I didn't even have any good expectations this year but I just felt like a lot of the walking was a waste of time. Guess it's all downhill from here..

Anyway, just got home.. tired.. more ranting tomorrow.

I'd love to hear more ranting from people... I too had a bad experience. I attributed it to the large crowds and figured if you took part during the early hours of the morning it would have been more enjoyable, i guess not! I think I might avoid it all together next year.

I went down to casa loma at around 12:30am or so and got a few good shots that I wanted. After I wrapped up from there, a friend said that there weren't too many people downtown (1:45am or so) and suggested that I should take my car down instead of TTC... was planning to leave the car at George Brown College.

How naive I was to listen to him, the core was packed! I spent 30 minutes going in circles downtown and finally gave up. The mood for photography was completely killed. Sigh, always TTC when in the core.

Nuit Blanche seemed to be mostly bad performance art and really annoyingly bad new age music (the Ambient crap at Nathan Phillips Square was horrid).

But it was a great excuse to go downtown and do some long-exposure city shots with zero worries about getting hassled by rentacops. I spent about 4 hours wandering around the west side of the core doing this before crashing at work until my shift.

Went down to Liberty Village last night around 10 (I helped my friend and her architecture classmates setup the bamboo installation earlier in the day and wanted to see the final product). We stayed a bit and walked through the paper bag apologetic people which was pretty cool. After that, we went down to City Hall and saw the updating text thing which was kinda cool too but not all that exciting.

Made the biggest mistake of my life when we decided to go to Queen St W at around 1am... So many drunks and rowdy teenagers/crowds of people obviously not there to enjoy the exhibits... Headed south from there and saw the Vodka "Pool" (more like PUDDLE)...

Overall, I wasn't too impressed but it was my first Nuit Blanche. Probably won't do it again next year.

Not surprised by the ranting, reason why I never went this year and no intention in going ever again.

Much better then last year not as good as the year before last. Some really interesting exhibitions buried away from the corporate stuff. I did queen west first so I wouldn't have to put up with the drunk/drugfest.

Didn't really focus too much on shooting cuz I was with non-photography friends. Did managed a couple "good" shots though.

was a bit disappointed by the art, none of the pieces I saw really jumped out at me.

Haven't had a chance to go through the pictures, we'll have to see how they turned out.

This gets my favourite for the best interactive exhibition award for the night. To have volunteers step into the cage with a professional wrestler and actually wrestle is something you don't see in Canada.

Definitely only go out after midnight. I 'slept in', and headed out at 5am, so just got a quick visit in.

I focussed more on the performance/interactive pieces, as it's interesting watching the liveliness. The monopoly game and the rides along Bay/King were cute jokes.

I didn't make it to Liberty Village at all, and didn't make it to the remote locations (I've found sometimes those are the most intimate/interesting).

Some areas were much too crowded. A bunch of girls were catfighting near Yonge/Dundas .. Pedal fountain and the ghosts were a joke. The Witches' Cradle was very cool.
