So to keep everyone up to speed, I've got 2 interested models already and they've pretty much given the solid go ahead. Though I never take that for granted, I have 3 more that are "checking the time" and we will have at least 1 model that evening...

I'm going to tell them to bring maybe an evening dress of some sort cause that always makes for nice photos

Any other suggestions?

It looks like something came up and I won't be able to make the outing.
Was really looking forward to it :(

Cos we're getting models, so as we don't waste their time, I suggest we have enough gear, and some sort of shooting schedule, so we won't be fumbling about.

Sort of to recap, I have camera, 580EX II, and one set of YN RF602 triggers.

Maybe people going can copy and paste to the list of items below. I have very little experience with OCF, so I don't think I should be determining the shooting plan.

Gear List:
1. 580EXII, YN RF602: 1 TX 1RX.

2. 420EX, YN PT-04TM: 1 TX 1 RX, 7ft flash stand, reflector, 2 tripods, remote shutter release

Mike and I went there this morning to take some pics to give everyone an idea of where we'll be shooting.

Here is a small pano of the place that I really want to try.

This is a link to all the photos samples I took on my picasa...

Also, looking over our list, i think that we'll have at least 2 sites in the same area to take photos so we won't have 10 photogs hovering in one spot

I'm pretty pumped about this and I'm really looking forward to it

No, i put that there for anyone that wants to come as well

because i figure you can attend and still have valuable input and learn something. It'll be harder for you to be involved since you may not have the equipment but there is nothing to say you won't be taking shots.

Please make sure you confirm everyone as there are many interested parties out there that would like to be on the list if you cannot make it.

Thanks everyone!

We took a few pictures for those who have not been there before. Beautiful place, although I wonder how much of it will turn out when the nuclear lighting (aka the sun) goes out.

The courtyard which the residence overlooks:

A tree with an interesting trunk:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mike-tan/3879791820/" title="IMG_5847 by mike.tan, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2591/3879791820_eec952c471.jpg" width="500" height="332" alt="IMG_5847"></a>

The residence block:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mike-tan/3879783916/" title="IMG_5836 by mike.tan, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2675/3879783916_23b9688000.jpg" width="332" height="500" alt="IMG_5836"></a>

A pond with a small waterfall:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mike-tan/3879788736/" title="IMG_5843 by mike.tan, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3453/3879788736_f21273f9b5.jpg" width="332" height="500" alt="IMG_5843"></a>

And several archways:

We might have a small problem if the place starts getting crowded with students; and if security decides to assert their authorita.

In the worst case, we can always pack up and move along to Queen's Park, just a few steps away.

Mike, thanks for posting some pics of the spot, very nice indeed. It would be cool figuring out an effective way to light that last archway. It would be cool to gel out the flashes - perhaps even a two tone picture.

We had good fun trying to figure that one :)

you're welcome jamesy. Here's another one where you can see the brick pattern with less drama:

Not too difficult to see from the picture. What do you think?

I thought that this was a studio shoot or at least indoors. So battery powered only I guess.
