Just created a flickr account and uploaded some of the pics. First time and learned a lot. Thanks again Justin!

Lol. That's a good one Mike.

Normally I tell models it will take upwards to 2 to 3 weeks for processed photos(I'm slow but you can't rush quality right ;). But luckily I have some time this weekend so I'll see what I can do.

Justin - which email address you want the photos sent to?

Hey what about the rest of the shooters that night? Between all of us, the flashes probably went off over a thousand times. I'm interested in seeing how others interpreted the scene, especially those that were at my setup.

Hey everyone! that shots I've gotten so far are pretty damned nice ;)

I'll add my email to my profile here, and I just don't want to post my email for a google bot to grab.

ya, so output on the photos:

1. 800px longest edge
2. at least your top 10 pics, can be as many as you can process
3. watermark your photos, as these are your pics... you don't need a logo, but just add your name to it somewhere
4. Do not send to the models directly, as I'm going to keep it fair for all photographers. I will send them probably like the top 20 pics for each model and they'll be happy. 20+ photos for their portfolios is pretty darn good.

I've been thinking about the next site... how is High Park everyone? what do you think?

Are the flickr posts ok? or you want emails?

the ones I post there are larger...so if you want to send the models there. If they Mayhem numbers can I get them? I would like to work with Vanessa again.

As for another site how about Edwards Gardens or a studio? Split the costs electricity and all that.

Edward Garden has a few funky trees, bridges & pats to play with but I think you need a permit.

Hey Justin, I don't see your email on your profile. Oh, and how about some industrial/back alley sort of shoot where we won't get yelled at by some drunk college girls. ;)

How about someplace where we could get nice ambient lighting for the background?

I'd like to try to get the cine-like evening/night look - you know, slightly blue cast, swirly bokeh from street lights and headlamps in the background, wet roads (optional), dramatic looks on peoples' faces, that kind of thing. A bit late but if we did that last week, we'd be in the mood for TIFF...

I know being out on the streets is going to be tough especially for the heavy-duty gear, but I'd like to see what we can do hit-and-run style; shoot a few frames, move on to another site.

Maybe Union Station, Harbourfront, Distillery district?

See if we can get good shots before we get chased away by security. How's that for a challenge? :D

Thanks George for the kind words. If you take enough shots you'll get lucky and find a couple keepers ;) The shots you took are great btw, especially since you just picked up your dslr and short while ago. I can see you already have a good eye.

Very nice shots from everyone so far!

What I may do after is post them all online once I get them from everyone... the we can have a general place to view them all instead of loading up a thread or anything

Ya Mike, I was thinking about different sites like that, but wasn't sure about the "regulations" to do the shoot.
Habourfront would definitely be cool. A street setting could be done but with so many of us coming out, I think we'll be a "traffic" nightmare.

What about a studio? I can definitely see if I can arrange something.

I'm studio FTW on this one... I enjoy it, and its definitely fun. If we do, I'd will definitely want to do MUA and HS for them.

regulations? schmegulations... that's the spirit of shoot and run, right? :P

Yeah, I know about the traffic issue though, so yeah, try a studio I guess. :)

Still, if we could get a really small group, say all in, not more than 7, we could pull off a street strobist shoot, and the results might be really interesting.

I'm just curious with this question..

how many frames did everyone take?

not a judgment question, I'm just wondering cause there are so far a lot of very good shots

I filled up an 8GB card with S sized jpegs...
(you know what they say about monkeys hammering away at the keyboard)

:D

kidding. I took 123 shots, and I only shot .CR2. I hope I did not hog the trigger too much for the rest of the guys...

I took about 200 shots but I'm quick at the shutter. I like to get a flow going with the model so after I get the lighting setup - typically half a dozen shots - I ask to the model to give me a different pose after each shot I take. I find this is more natural and gets the creative juices flowing. If I like a certain pose I will ask the model to do that pose again or a slight variation on that pose.

Hey guys, for watermarking your images, what are you guys using to do it?

My set's pretty much processed, but I do wanted to watermark it so it looks more 'pro'

If it's photoshop, do you guys use a specific plugin?

I took 72 frames total. This was my first model shoot so I can't say if this is average for me or not.

I need way more experience in posing models. There are so many things that have to come together to nail the 'shot', lighting, model pose and expression to name a few.
