Thanks Justin for the logistical arrangement. Next time, you should get to shoot too!

Here's the group picture. No modelling lamp, so the focus was slightly off... :(

actually I'm curious now. Did you remember seeing the AF assist lamp come on? I think the DOF was not deep enough... Still not used to shooting at small apertures - too used to available light.

I think the initiates (like me) should resist the temptation to spend too much money at the start. Just one light can already do wonders. See:
http://photography-on-the.net/forum/sho ... p?t=412392

Next time we meet, I would like to shoot at a time/place with more ambient. Something like dusk, when the sky goes crazy with colour, like this:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mike-tan/3701418363/" title="Big air! by mike.tan, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2663/3701418363_d66c2702db.jpg" width="376" height="500" alt="Big air!"></a>

and then maybe move on to near a street location or some place with distant lights to get bokeh effects.

OK. who's organising a group buy for RF602 triggers?

I got a set of 2 receivers and 1 trigger already, why do you need a group buy? they're not that expensive

oh, by the way, you can also use them as wireless shutter release! cool, eh? :D

you're not interested in saving money? The multiple receiver packs are cheaper than buying a receiver on its own.

Other than that I can imagine people would want to buy light stands/umbrellas/softboxes/(and for the hard core ones) AB strobes and PLMs...

+1 Mike. You can do wonders with one light and a add a reflector for fill if need be. There is a Flickr group called One Strobe Pony that features shots with only one light.

I wouldn't mind picking up a 2rx1tx to replace my other set...

if there are others, I can order from DX... i'd collect $ first though, and I won't charge the "Solid Gold" price ;)

You guys should buy sets from ebay. deal extreme only sells the 1 flash 1 trigger deals. Unless that is all you are after.

SD, wanna put a watermark on it to call it yours? Are these the ones you want me to send to the models?

Hey Justin,

I typically don't put a watermark on my images. It's going to take me a while to go through all the images and I may even make changes to the ones I posted on flickr so I'll send you the ones for the models separately.

Thanks again for setting this up. Cheers. If you ever want to shoot together just give me a shout.

the models are quite anxious to get some feedback and results. I already got 2 messages for some pics. One model just wanted to see 1 photo :D

what were they thinking, we shot with polaroids? :P

But seriously though, remind us again what you said - how many photos, what resolution, and which mailbox to bomb?
