So there are a couple of things I'd really like to do and I'm wondering if I could possibly do both at the same Ad-Hoc.
I'm looking for a bit of hands on work with some wireless flash units and getting an intro on how to balance light in a studio environment; but I also could really use a couple of shots of myself for use on Linkdin, my 'about' page on my website, TPMG forum, perhaps even a decent shot for an online dating site. [The self shots are really not working for me...]

I figure I could kill two birds with one stone

Also, I might be able to work up the guts the work with a professional model at a later workshop, if I get a couple rounds in with some 'regular people' - i.e. other photographers as the models for this shoot... [Of course those workshops tend to fill up quickly and I don't log into the site often enough to catch them - but that's a different story]

I've tried doing a "headshot exchange" photosession with another photographer once, but we got rained out and didn't get a chance to reschedule because his wife gave birth to their first kid shortly thereafter.

So is anyone else up for this? Perhaps someone who has some equipment?

Alternatively, if the studio thing isn't your thing, PM me and perhaps we can work out the street style portrait exchange, no serious equipment required.

Any feedback/suggestions would be appreciated.

I would be interested in something like this, but it all depends - the location, the time, how many people are coming, and equipment. I only have two studio strobes, and I dont wanna drag these across Toronto on the TTC (I don't drive )

If we keep this small (like 3-4 ppl MAX including me) I'm willing to host it in my apartment.

I have basic backdrop setup and a few strobes which can be connected through wireless.

It is 3-4 ppl max since I live in a small bachelor apartment with barely enough room for me lol.

Love the idea. I have 2 strobes, 2 umbrellas, soft box and background stand with white and black muslins. All depend time and date.

I'd definitely do it if I wasn't going away for 2 weeks.

Hopefully you can get one together in that time! I know there are a lot of ppl on here more than eager to play

ok, if anyone can take some decent pictures of me, ill donate my studio time for this. I have all the lighting equipment you need. Maybe just 2-3 people so it doesnt get crazy?

can you pose boudoir for us? hehehehe... j/k ..... any personal theme you have in mind so that we can start working from there...?

That would be a good practice theme, with a good dose of humour in it.

I've got this room at my building that would probably accomodate 2 if not 3 set ups (As long as we are on different channels and avoid RF interference) The furniture etc is (was last time I went up there a year or so ago) pretty nice and the room and rooftop in general would be well suited for studio (background) work as well as on-location indoor/outdoor type shots with the city in the background or whatever.

We could probably get 10-12 people up there if you guys are interested. Here's a photo of the room I found online:

My friend (not a member) wanted to do it. If you want, we can do it with just the four of us (Simon, Spag, me and my friend). I just need a couple good shots of me (if that's even possible) . I will donate the studio time and my lights! Sunday at 10am? send me your emails again.

I have no experience in this whatsoever, but I am interested even if it means I can just observe and learn.

To say that I dropped the ball on this one would be an understatement.
I'm glad some people are still making it happen.
