What: A Random Road Trip II: The Sequel
When: Sun. Jul 18, 2010
Time: 9:30AM
Where: 304 Wellington Street East at Mary Street, in the Town of Aurora
Bring: Car, camera, map.

Following up on the ad-hoc success of the last time we did this following a north and west routing, this time we're opting for a north and east approach, maybe visiting the south and east shores of Lake Simcoe.

As per the last time, the rules do stay the same: Pick a point of interest on the map, and get there eventually, maybe, making it up as we go along.

For those interested, the date for the completion of the trilogy, tripping off to St Jacobs and area is penciled in for Sunday August 29th

Any idea of where we might be stopping?

Likely that I'll be headed to Montreal that weekend for Swing L'ete.... If not, maybe I'll join you.

I never seem to be able to plan much in advance, but so far that date is a good one for me to go wandering. I'll re-confirm closer when I have a better idea of what's going on.

Hopefully it's not cheating to replace a map with a GPS.

David mentioned something about some more mills up that way.

I don't know how I completely missed this, but I did. I can come, but have to leave at some point .... As I have a ticket for the Rush concert at the acc that night, and I think I want to take the go train downtown for that. So I have to take the 6pm train from Pickering.... Will have to look at schedule.

Anyhow I can make up a list of things which could be interesting. How far do we want to go?

I know on the last one we went until there was no light left.

David, do you want this even moved to Sunday instead? That is, of course if it's okay with everyone else signed up, I of course realize the Rush concerts means a lot to you, and my Sunday is currently free.

I'm fine if it is switched to Sunday.

I would love it if you could change it to Sunday because I am not available on Saturday. Wasn't available for the last one either.

Sunday would work fine for me, but not for Susan (susanphotobug) as she would be working on Sunday.

After careful consideration, I've decided to move the event to Sunday.

She would like to do that, but would need a ride home. I'll go, but I need to be in Guelph in the afternoon so would need to leave around lunchtime .

What are the driving arrangements.... I am happy to drive and take passengers?

I'd like to come but I'm not sure I can make it far east enough that it is reasonable to get a ride. Who is the furthest west with a spare seat?

Afriad I'm already too far north to help. GO train, either part way, or all the way to Aurora? I can't even fathom a guess on the schedule.

Looks like upon meet-up we'll have at least 7 or more people. Likely 2 vehicles would be needed. So we could park a few somewhere.

Is there some type of parking near by to park a few vehicles. ???

I am picking up Yesh in Scarborough and heading up the dvp/404 to Aurora.

I believe Elaine is getting Bogdan from the west area somewhere and coming up.

Janet is probally going north from her location in the far west area.

Chris is coming south to the location.

David you can come to Scarborough and meet me and we all go together in one vehicle or shift people around in Aurora if that is easier to drive to for you?

There is public parking at both the Aurora Armoury and beside the Legion (there may be others but I am familiar with those two). I'll likely be early so I could park at one of those places and walk over to the meeting spot.

I am probably going to drive..... I like driving..... Especially more so now!

I doubt I'll be staying for the whole event so I'll probably go in my own car. I do have room for one other.
