Details:

Silent Hill II is filming in Toronto as we speak and have a creepy carnival setup somewhere in the cherry beach area. This set is rumored to be dismantled by Friday night. I cannot guarantee that we will have access to the set nor can I attest to how "creepy" it is as I do not have a shooting schedule. It does seem as if local photographers have already been there and taken photos. I will be taking a walk down Cherry St. starting at 6:30pm SHARP, any and all are welcome.

What: Silent Hill II Set Shoot
When: Wed. April 13, 2011
Time: 6:30PM (Sun goes down at 7:58pm)
Where: Roundabout at the foot of Cherry St.

http://bit.ly/hypdCG

Those traveling by bus, 72 Pape bus from Union will take you to Cherry St. and Commissioners St. From there its approximately 10 minutes walk south.

Bring: Camera, maybe tripod, a change of underwear in case you come across any zombies.

No clue, this could be a gamble, I live nearby so I'm gonna risk it. I'm just going based on whatever you read on the blogto.com link. If things go south, it'll be a "Sunset at Cherry Beach" shoot

Looks like the bike path is open, and the actual set is just cordoned off with some caution tape.

Stupid "security." Nonetheless it was fun to get out and chat. Hopefully the guys making the late run have better luck. Thanks Bart!

I was there after work @ 5:30ish and there was another photog with 2xD3's we didn't have any trouble at all. But it looked like the film crew was starting to 'get in for work'.

bike path was open throughout the whole time even when we went back after Wendy's, but crew kept telling us no photo... all my walk-by 'spy shots' came up blurry...lol.
at least when the movie come out, I can say "I was there..."

anyways, good chance to get out and meet some of you guys... thanks Bart.

We definitely got in about 30-45 minutes late. As soon as 6:30pm hit, the crew started to get really stringent on photos. I didn't mind arguing with some of them so I still got in a few good shots. It definitely looked the coolest later on once it got dark and all the lights came on. Unfortunately they were already filming by then. If anyone is interested in going again, I was told that that scene would finish shooting this morning (Thur) and that they would be taking it apart first thing. Here's a few that I got:

I was hounded by security so didn't get any close ups. I will be posting the rest on flickr later today.

I saw the Globe ran a photo of the set the other day. Photo credit was Kevin Van Paassen.
