I was wondering if anyone would be interested in going to the ROM in mid-December. I'll be done exams December 16th and would love to get out and do some shooting since I'm too busy with school right now.

Anyways, I looked on the ROM website and flash photography is allowed in the year round exhibits but no tripods.

Let me know what you all think!

I can be on this one if my work schedule would not interfere at the "day".. haven't used my complimentary pass on ROM yet.. this could be a perfect time to go

sounds alright, but last time I found the museum to be more suited to kids than adults in terms of interesting exhibits

I'd agree.... The permanent exhibits are ok, but meh. I think I've done my ROM stint for at least a couple of years.

I'm interested. I actually haven't been since they spliced that crystal monstrosity on it. And the El Anatsui exhibit should be good. I saw this artist's work in Tucson. Amazing African art painstakingly made from societal leftovers. We probably can't photograph it (you couldn't in Tucson), but it's worth experiencing.

Don't they have $5 admission on Friday nights or something?

It's half price $12. It's also very popular and crowded.

Either Friday dec. 17th or Saturday 18th works for me. What would everyone else prefer? Half price friday or saturday?

mmm I think most people have work on Friday.. including myself.

Make the event with a column for each day. Then people can vote...

I don't think they allow flash.

Under visitor policies on the ROM website it says:

Photography with flash and video recording is permitted in most permanent galleries for personal use only, with hand-held equipment. The use of tripods, monopods, etc is not permitted. Photography is not permitted in special exhibitions.

So I believe flashes are allowed at least in some exhibits.

And I will make the event, but how do I make a column for each day? Doesn't it have a pre-made set up for events (Yes, Maybe, No?)
