Dancing + Photography + Toronto Harbour cruise = TPMG ad-hoc event!

What: Toronto Harbour Dance Cruise (bring your DSLR)
When: Friday. July 02, 2010
Time: 7:30PM - Midnight
Where: Queens Quay & Lower Sherbourne St (Pier 27)
Bring: Bring DSLR, some money for drinks

Hey All,

I'm a newbie, and I'm plugging in my 8th annual Dance Cruise that I organize in the Toronto Harbour. Besides dancing, I enjoy photography. Recently I've met some of you TPMG members at two random ad-hocs events on Queen Street West in the past two months (you know who you are)

Now I'm thinking why don't I invite all TPMG members out to my dance cruise! Well you don't need to dance to come, most party goers come because of the city view!

So here's my offer to TPMG: the first 10 registered TPMG members to this event will receive one free ticket to my 8th annual Toronto Harbour Dance Cruise (also those TPMG members I've met in the past will get a free ticket, just msg me), in return that you shoot using your P&S or DSLR of whatever is happening during the party (but you don't have to shoot of course) and share me your photos so that I can post and share the photos with other people.

If more TPMG members want to come or bring along a friend, tickets are $25 (instead of $30 to the general public)

I hope people that replied yes will go. It would be a shame if they just signed up, but didn't show up to the actual event. considering there is cost involved.

To avoid any ticket scalping I'll contact the first 10 registered people to confirm their attendance.

If by any chance that a registered person drops out, then the next person in queue get a free ticket :)

Does anyone want to meet at a subway station along Yonge line & head to the pier together? I'm not entirely sure how to get there on TTC.

Lu, Thank you so much for inviting us to the UTDC cruise!!! We had a great time taking photos, dancing & cruising. Hope I've earned my keeps. ;) Here are a few photos from last night. I'll post a link to more photos shortly.

I wanted to do a slow sync to get a clear shot with some motion, but I think this is a lucky shot caused by double flash exposure from my camera & another photographer's across the room. What do you guys/gals think?

It took me a while to get some shots together. You can see my set here:

This was a great experience. The changing light as the sun went down was a challenge to keep up with. NEXT time those sodium lights (or whatever they were) come on, will be my cue to put my CTO gel on my flash. I wanted to keep the flash unobtrusive, but with such a blue cast, I kept the flash power quite low. Here are some samplers.
