Details:

What: Yorkville Exotic Car Show
When: July 10th, 2010
Time: 11:30am to 5pm
Where: Yorkville somewhere...
Bring: camera, sunscreen and patience for crowds

Unfortunately I doubt I'll be doing this but I thought I'd post it up so others who may be interested are aware. There will be an Enzo apparently. I've yet to see one...

Event Web Site

Edit: "Stalling" is not the confirmation - it has selected that since I created the event it assumed I'd be going.

Hi all! I am new here, but I participate on RFD and the likes. I will most likely be attending this event. If many of you are able to make it to this event, we should go as a group.

Just a reminder for folks that's setting up ad hocs, if you're setting up an ad hoc, it's preferred that you or somebody else is the organizer (or heck that other person should be posting it then).

Otherwise throw the suggestion up on the off topic section perhaps.

I really should get around to reading the rules... although I've never read forum rules before. :) I meant no harm. I posted it like this because I figured someone who could make it for sure would run with it so to speak. I still may go... I'd like to see an Enzo...

Seeing the Enzo and the GT1 is good, other ferraris and porsches for sure, rather see it on the track with the soundtrack to go with it. Light is harsh, crowd is light.

Yeah, the GT1 and the Carerra GT would both be nice to get shots of. Many of the cars there would be nice to get shots of.

Hahaha, the guy in the back is me. I'm sorry I didn't recognize you, Tanner. I was a nice day but I found it quite fatiguing, shooting in that sun for few hours. I will try to post few images of my own.

Don't miss it that much. It was great to watch but shooting is a different story. They had set up the cars side by side for the most part. Not enough room around them to take good shots.

As a side note, I was surprised to see a couple of cars not washed... :)

It wasn't just the photography aspect I was looking forward to; I really wanted to see some of these cars just to see them. It's one thing to see them in pictures and another entirely to see them live. And, of course as most of you probably know, another altogether to experience them racing. This isn't as bad as missing the Veyron at the Gumball though. That sucked.

I didn't even bother to look at 75% of the cars as I have seen /see them in my area every single day... Minus this particular Enzo, I can safely say that I have seen almost all of the modern exotics parked in the pictures (think 1988 Testarossa and newer) around my neighborhood and in Yorkville.

I believe SickKids is having another charity event on August 21st at Toronto Motorsports Park. I haven't been able to confirm that date, but if you, like me, rather see these cars alive vs standing still, keep that date in mind. I'll be attending for sure.

The Enzo and the 16M Scuderia is owned by the same guy, he's the one in the photo in this article. The white 911 GT3 RS, was just imported into Canada recently, and the owner of the white one also owns the green GT3 RS. I can't remember correctly if this guy works at Rogers, obviously somebody's doing rather well there :) Seeing the ring sticker, one thing in life I want to do, is to do a lap or two of the Nordschleife (also known as the Green Hell).

Yup.

He used to have a Black M6.

Completely unrelated (but related to supercars). Anyone know the owner of this car? I've seen it on the road and also at my gym (Mayfair Racquet and Fitness Club- at the West and Parkway locations). Here it was two days ago at my gym...

Talk about unrelated... :)

This baby was just parked nearby and it was shouting "ride me, ride me, Jack!". But I was strong and remained true to my aging Camry.

I'm glad you stayed strong Jack. The Camry gives much better mileage.

BTW this wasn't any ordinary SLR, It was the 722S Roadster - 1 of 150.

I don't think this car was part of the show though. There were some other pretty nice cars parked around the area.

Some excellent pictures being poster here especially TheFriendlyPiranha.

@TheFriendlyPiranha - Did you use your flash for those pictures?

I didn't manage to get any good shots because of the setup. It was really hot and every time I kneeled down to get a shot I would burn my knee. Overall though a really nice event considering the fact that this was their first year. I hope to see the event get bigger over time.

Thanks, Khanak!
Yup, flash was required in some situations. CP filter was useful too. I didn't get much time to experiment different exposures because of those annoying guys in yellow, who were on my head all the time. I mean, I don't get it - I was havin' owner's permission to go around the car and they were whinning about their rules.
I also had the burning asphalt problem but I endured like a hero.

Enzo and the 911 GT1 were the highlights for me. The speedster off in the corner was pretty sweet, absolutely mint. Set of pics of mine on flickr.

I did read that the 458 did show up, just wasn't there when I was there.
