I knew it might turn out like this. Although maybe safe to still pack an umbrella.

The storm clouds just started to roll in - hit my house - no rain or anything yet - but they are moving toward the east and will probably be over the zoo at some point this morning (i'm near the 404). I was planning on heading down but I think i'm going to wait for another day with better weather. Have fun!

To all those who skipped.... You missed a great day at the zoo. The weather was just fine, with only a couple of very brief moments of spitting rain which never amounted to much of anything. O got lots of looks of course with the 200-400 mounted on my d300s and the gimbal head on my tripod.... I was even questioned by security, which was completely odd... He wanted to know if I was there on any kind of assignment or commercial purpose. I said... No, I am here to shoot the animals like everyone else.

Anyhow, had a good outing. On the way home, I stopped by Merkle camera as I said I was going to, and picked up the mbd10 grip for my d300s.... I found shooting vertical with the long lens a little odd. Needs a grip for sure.

I had a great time today and again to those of you who couldn't make it you missed a perfect day weather wise for this type of outing. absolutely marvellous conditions. I just wish some of the animals were a bit more energetic at times. Over all it was a great outing and thank you david for setting this up, Had a great time walking around with you and too bad about missing you for most of the day ofermod but nice to shoot with you once you caught up. I will have some pics up hopefully in a day or two and I cant wait to see both of yours as well.

Cheers and Thanks again,
Scott

Thanks Scott,

Great shooting with you -- yes, the weather conditions were perfect - overcast for the majority of the day, giving us nice even light.

Had a pretty good time too -- though the first four hours were more of a solo shoot.

My only issue now is not finishing the roll of film, so those will have to wait. Hopefully they're not ridiculously shaky.

As I predicted: shaky!

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ofermod/4726572216/" title="Jellyfish by ofermod, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1050/4726572216_a2cfbd3cdd.jpg" width="318" height="500" alt="Jellyfish"></a>

But at least I still got opportunities like:
