James the Lawrence Library is a empty room with a bay window no screen it has an unusable fireplace and some stack chairs and a couple of wonky folding tables. I can't really describe it better then that. It's good for certain things but not really anywhere equivalent to the large lecture room in the Broadview library. I held the Jim Allen portrait workshop there last year and it was fine for that sort of use. Both Libraries have really good light at certain times of the day.

Ryan, thanks for the mini review - I appreciate it. I will keep it in mind for future events.

Jeremy, are you still willing to lead this one? If so, what is your availablity?

I can only make it during a weekend as I work late shifts on week days. So any Saturday or Sunday is OK with me. Thanks.

Hi,
I am interested, but I am a very beginner at this application.

How can I know if you guys decided when and where to conduct the course?

Thanks,
Faris

Faris, At this point I have booked the room at the library at Broadview in a tentitive mode only (April 24th, 1000-0200) - I have not put ca$h down yet, therefore we are not confirmed. We do not have instructors for the workshop and I would not really feel comfortable leading a class on this subject matter.

There have been at least three people on this thread who expressed interest in leading us.

Anyone willing and able to lead on this day?

Hey Justin,

I looks like we may not have an event unless we get someone capable of teaching the intermediate level - I don't feel my skills in LR can benefit very many people. Many of the people already signed up are better than me with LR so its not likem they would learn anything from me.

Any LR teachers out there wanting to show us their tricks???

Well, maybe its possible that you guys to a "shoot and process" session that day. Then each person can talk about their current workflow and people can always jump in with comments and tips that they have.

well, what i can suggest, so this doesn't just fizzle away is to have a beginner session during the week.

I know the venue I proposed is a little more pricey but if everyone is game, I should still be less than $20 including coffee and tea :D

thoughts?

have I missed out on this? if not, I am definitely interested.

I am a beginner.

How many people are in so far?

If it's smaller batches, I could try to arrange for a boardroom at work.

As far as I know it hasn't been done yet. I'm still interested, starting to get a bit more into post-processing and it would be helpful.

Hi Figs - welcome to TPMG!

It has not been done yet as we don't really have anyone who offered to teach it. Many of us are intermediate users but I personally would not feel all that comfortable teaching the subject.

In terms of locations, Justin might be able to get a spot in during the week through his church and I had originally booked the library for a session this coming Saturday but never followed through because of the lack of instructors.
