Details:

What: Halton County Radial Railway Museum Christmas Light Event
When: Saturday December 5th 2009
Time: 3PM
Where: Meet at the Museum - Guelph Line
Bring: Tripod, Camera

The streetcar museum is one of my favorite spots to visit! Located on the Guelph line just west of Milton, the museum is the home of a huge collection of vintage streetcars and electric railway equipment from all over Canada and the USA. On December 5th, they will be running a special event where they will run streetcars on their 2km line for the last time of the season along with festive christmas lights. I have never been to the Christmas event, and have always wanted to go, so this will be a first for me too. It should be fun.

Afterwards, we can head over to Milton and find somewhere for dinner.

For more info on how to get to the museum please see the website at: www.hcry.org

Unfortunately, i can't on the 5th, though i am hoping that i will be able to go the 12th while on my way to a Christmas Party in Guelph, this sounds like a cool idea for an event by the HCRY and i hope it works out.

Why do you have to make it on the same day as the other event?

Gee, I'd love to do this but I'm at another event that day with BPC.

Maybe I'll try and go on the 12th.

This is not the first time we've had multiple events on the same day.

I'm going to the same event. All I need to do is find a way to kill 3 hours in Cambridge between the events, since they're a half hour drive apart.

Though also I'm not driving people from BPC.

that shouldn't be too hard.... lots of stuff to shoot in and around Cambridge. I am heading out east to Tyrone first thing in the morning, and then heading west ... So see you there!

I'm 80% sure i'm going to make it. Almost 200 posts later, this might be my first event.
Does anyone want a lift? i'm located in north Toronto (almost North York), but i have no idea where I'm going :)
I'm not sure how late of a night I can make it, so I might be returning early if that's a problem with anyone.

No problem..... basically its due west on the 401, to the Guelph Line, and then approximately another 15-20 minute drive north from there. The museum is on the east side of the road. Its not a very wide property, but you can't miss it for the electric trolly busses parked out front, and various utility electric train equipment on the front trackside.

I'll be showing up with Deb... we were going to make another visit this past summer but never got to it so this is the last chance for this year at least.

We did have the privilege of wandering around the area for quite some time when we dropped by the museum earlier this year and didn't realize that they weren't open for the season. We talked to a couple of volunteers there learning more about the history of various trains, interesting history!

It was finally nice to make it out to an event!
Here's a snap shot from the day.
Thanks for organizing!

I was hoping that people would put up there images from the event. I think I was the only one without a tripod :(
