With the awesome weather forecast, and the moon being nearly full, you guys have some great photo ops this week!

These days the moon rises in the east-southeast:

Wednesday -- moon a very fat gibbous; rises 7:05-ish (sun is still up)

Thursday -- nearly full! rises 7:20-ish (sun is still up)

Friday -- Oh, so very close to being full! Rises 7:35-ish, just about due east (sun is still up)

(Saturday -- past full; rises ~7:50, a few minutes after the sun has set.)

Personally I like to shoot the moon coming up when it's almost full, i.e. the sun has not yet quite set -- the foreground is still lit up, so the contrast is manageable.

You guys oughtta go to Ashbridge's, or maybe Humber Bay Park.

(I'm afraid I'll be away -- Chicago -- as a matter of fact I may try to shoot the moon coming up over the Adler Planetarium.

Thanks for the heads up. Funny you should mention this 'cause just yesterday I went to the club to play 9 holes after work. on one of the holes my bro-in-law was teeing up and getting ready to make his swing and I noticed the moon and said to myself how cool that shot would look!
